Bulk domain checker

Paste up to 100 domains, one per line or separated by commas. Full domains (acme.io) are checked as typed; bare names (acme) are checked in every extension you tick. Each row is a live answer from the registry, and the free ones copy out in one click or download as a CSV with their first-year and renewal prices.

What each extension costs, and how often names are taken

Cheapest first year: .online ($1.96) and .site ($1.96). Cheapest to keep: .us ($7.00 a year), .com ($10.88 a year), .org ($11.64 a year). 8 of the 18 renew at double their first-year price or more, so compare the renewal column before you register.

Prices: the lowest standard (non-premium) quote from Dynadot and Porkbun, USD per year, as of October 24, 2026. Taken: the share of distinct names people checked on domhaul since August 4, 2026 that were already registered. People check names they hope are free, so it is the miss rate of hopeful guesses, not of every possible name. Each extension's page has its registrar quotes, five-year cost and registry facts; all domain prices.

How the check works

  • Each domain goes to its registry's RDAP server: Verisign for .com and .net, Public Interest Registry for .org, Google Registry for .app and .dev, and so on. A record back means registered; not found means free.
  • Five lookups run at a time. Any that fail wait three seconds and are retried two at a time; the last resort is the DNS, where a delegated name is registered and a missing one is not.
  • A free answer is always fresh. A taken answer can come from our record of names found registered in the past 7 days, since a registered name almost never drops that fast. To see when a taken name runs out, use the domain expiration checker.
  • No answer means the registry did not reply in time. It says nothing about the name; check again in a minute.
  • Register starts checkout, which confirms the name with the registrar again and quotes the exact price before you pay.

Bulk domain checker questions

How many domains can I check at once?

100 per run. A bare name counts once for each extension you tick, so 20 names in 5 extensions fill a run. Anything past 100 is left out and the checker says how many, so you can paste the rest into the next run. A full run of 100 took about 4 seconds on 3 November 2026.

Can I check a list of names in several extensions at once?

Yes. Type the names without an extension and tick the extensions you want: each name is checked in each one. A name typed with its extension (acme.io) is checked only there, so one list can mix both. Duplicates, capital letters, www. and https:// are cleaned up before the run.

How do I export the results?

Download CSV saves one row per domain with its status (free, taken or unknown), the lowest first-year and renewal price in US dollars for the 18 priced extensions, and the time of the check. Copy free puts only the free domains on your clipboard, one per line, ready to paste into a registrar's bulk register box.

Which extensions can the bulk checker handle?

Any extension you type. The 18 tick boxes answer over RDAP in about a second each. For other extensions the checker tries WHOIS and then the DNS, which can tell a delegated name from an unregistered one but not who owns it. A row the registry did not answer says No answer instead of guessing.

What share of .com names is still free?

Few of the obvious ones. In the 3 November 2026 run below, 19 of 20 plausible coffee-shop names were taken in .com, while 12 to 15 of the same 20 were free in .net, .co, .store and .online. A bulk run across several extensions is the quickest way to find the name that is free where you need it.
