Questions

Do I need a paid plan to buy a domain?: No. Searching, the value calculator, buying domains, DNS, mailboxes and for-sale pages are all free and always have been. Scout and Captain only add the social handle checks.
What counts as a check?: One platform, looked up once. Checking the same handle again within a day is free, because the answer is cached and shared, so re-running a sweep costs nothing. Names that a platform's username rules rule out are reported without being counted at all.
What happens if I run out of checks?: The checks you already ran stay visible and the allowance resets on the 1st. Nothing else about your account changes, and you are never charged for going over.
Can I cancel?: Any time, from the billing portal. You keep the plan until the end of the period you have already paid for, then it stops. No partial refunds, no cancellation fee.
Can I switch between monthly and yearly?: Yes, in the same billing portal. Stripe prorates the difference, so switching to yearly mid-month credits what you have not used.
